In a recent interview with RTL Nieuws, Eiji Aonuma mentioned that although he may “stuck with Zelda,” it is not a bad thing.
Aonuma: I get bored pretty quickly – when I play a soccer/football game, I already want to do something else after five minutes. But with Zelda I keep on playing, because things like soccer/football are implemented into the game. The games transcend genre conventions, allowing you to put all kinds of different experiences in them. In that respect, I have all the freedom to explore new ideas. I might be stuck with Zelda, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s a very comfortable place to be stuck.

When asked if there would be a classic-style of Zelda, Aonuma answered as follows:
Aonuma: It’s hard to say anything about the future. That said, thanks to earlier Zeldas, a game like Tears of the Kingdom now exists. This game was born from the ideas we had in the past. We always try to make something that offers more than previous productions. In that respect, we are not really concerned with our old games anymore. We prefer to focus on the future.
