I picked up Sonic Origins Plus for Nintendo Switch a few weeks back, and there are things that I like and things that really tick me off. It has been many years since I played Sega’s classic Sonic titles on Sega Genesis. Since I bought the physical version, I unboxed the game on my YouTube channel. It does come with a code for the “Plus” portion of game. Yes, that means that only the original “Sonic Origins” is on the cartridge.

I began with the original Sonic. Don’t get me wrong, I love the widescreen version of the this game, but I tried to be a perfectionist while playing it. Not only did it tick me off, but I found myself really being to despise the game. I ended up putting the game down and doing something else.

The other night, I decided to play the game without forcing myself to collect each Chaos Emerald. To my surprise, my enjoyment of the game increased immediately.

The moral of the story; just play the game and have fun. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to get every item.
