Is Fury Fight a Fun Game?

I was given a code for Fury Fight on the Nintendo Switch. After spending some time with the game, I can definitely say it is not really my thing but it is a solid beat‘em up game. It’s also on sale at nintendo.com

The game is currently on sale.

What I like

I like the graphics and audio. The graphics look like a modern take of a classic Virtua Fighter; before texture mapped polygons. The music and sound effects are also enjoyable.

What could be improved

The controls are a little rough and it took me a while to get used to them. The enemies are also a bit overpowered with limited crowd control measures.

The game reminded me of Bayou Billy for the NES. If you never played this classic Konami game, it is a solid beat’em up game but the American release was modified to greatly increase the difficulty.

Like Bayou Billy, I found these enemies to be a little tough. If I ran out of the way and then came back to the crowd with a fast attack, I could get the crowd under control. It seems very familiar. Streets of Rage 4, it is not.

Conclusion

Is it worth the money? It is currently on sale for $2 on Nintendo’s site. At that price, it is well worth it. Your mileage may vary otherwise. If you like beat’em ups, give it a shot.
