Jedi Survivor to Require Download

It has been reported that the physical edition of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor will require a download in order to play the game. The news comes from a Reddit post.

If you have trouble seeing the requirement, I have zoomed in on the image here:

Truth be told; most games require a download now. My only concern would be if only part of the game was on the disc(s). Generally speaking, if a game is incomplete, and requires a download to play; I will simply buy the digital edition.

I don’t care for digital editions, but what’s the point on buying a physical release when a download is still required? For example; when the Spyro Reignited Trilogy was released, I would have purchased the physical game, but only the first of the trilogy was actually on the cartridge. The Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection was the same hybrid physical style.

This seems very Nintendo-like. I get that cartridges are expensive, but optical discs; Blu-rays in particular are not. Use a 100 GB disc and call it a day.
