“Mazinger Z” Coming To Modern Consoles

I saw this tweet from Hamster, and “Mazinger Z” is set for release this week, as an “Arcade Archive” on PlaysStation 4 (PS4) and Nintendo Switch. If I am going to play an arcade game, I really prefer it be on a modern console, rather than an actual cabinet.

If you don’t know what Mazinger Z is; it is a 1970s-era cartoon from Japan. It was imported to the US, in the 1980s, during the height of the Transformer popularity, as “Tranzor Z.” You can read more about the lore here.

Transor Z was heavily edited for the US market, yet they somehow left the “breast missiles” of the female robot intact. For some reason, even as a kid; I didn’t mind.

I really liked the cartoon, particularly the music, but Transformers was my dominant cartoon.

I knew there was a game, but I have never played it. I do plan to buy the game upon its release, and I “plan” to do a video on it. Check out my YouTube channel for any follow-up.
