Splatterhouse Heads to Arcade Archives

Splatterhouse is a classic Namco side-scrolling action game, released in Japan in 1988. It’s best home port was on the PC Engine (Turbografx 16 in Japan) and now the arcade version is coming to Arcade Archives for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on June 22, 2023.

While the typical $8 price point for most Arcade Archive games (excluding Mazinger Z) is ideal for this game, you can buy it another way.

See, Namco makes their own compilation that includes Spatterhouse. Even though the game is $30, it is routinely on sale for about $8. While I prefer the compilation over the single game, it is only available for the Nintendo Switch. If you have a Playstation, you are out of luck. Also, it is entirely understandable that some people do prefer Arcade Archives because Hamster is known for their solid emulation.
