The new price of $70 is becoming a standard. Nintendo charged $70 for the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Sega is planning to charge that much going forward too. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 (PS5) games are already $70.

GameSpot reported that Take-Two’s CEO, “Strauss Zelnick, has said the company has not seen a “pushback” to increased prices.”

This is a growth business. It will remain the fastest-growing part of the entertainment business for the next 20-plus years. And we will have those tailwinds. Now we still have to deliver in that context, and we intend to. But to torture the metaphor, the wind is at our back,” Zelnick said.

I have little interest in the next Grand Theft Auto. I have every game in the series, but I tend to buy them when they go on sale.
